South High class of 1971 plans reunion

The South Hagerstown High Class of 1971 will celebrate its 40-year reunion Saturday, Oct. 1, at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Elizabethtown East

The next meeting of Elizabethtown East Neighborhoods 1st will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at The Gourmet Goat, 41 N. Potomac St. Nonalcoholic beverages and light refreshments will be provided.

If you cannot make the evening meeting, the group we will meet at the restaurant at 10 a.m. on the same day for coffee.


Program planned

The League of Women Voters will host a program on the “Current Means of Electricity in Maryland and Potential Alternatives.” The meeting will be Tuesday, April 12, starting at 7 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St. Hagerstown.

Participants are asked to enter the church using the walkway to the right of the main entrance. The meeting will be held in the last room on the left.

This is a free event sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Data compiled from across the state regarding the production of electricity for cost, efficiency and environment will be discussed. Hagerstown Lions Club

Tuesday — Maj. Robert Lyle from The Salvation Army will give an update on the agency’s capital campaign.


‘His Story’

A dramatic presentation of “His Story” will be performed at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Ave.

Presentations will be performed Saturday, April 9, Sunday, April 10, Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16, with all presentations beginning at 7 p.m.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. A nursery will be provided. Good will offerings will be accepted.

Musical performance

Virginia Avenue Baptist Church will host a gospel music performance Thursday at 7 p.m. The Jacobs Brothers, of Dillsburg, Pa., will perform a traditional ensemble of gospel music. For more information, contact Martha at 301-582-0873.
