Clear Spring liquor store robbed at gunpoint

CLEAR SPRING — A person was forced to the floor and about $500 was stolen during an armed robbery at Clear Spring Liquors at 126 Cumberland St. in Clear Spring on Saturday afternoon, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery, which was reported at 4:20 p.m., occurred when a male and female with masks over their faces entered the business through a front door, police said.

The male displayed a handgun, forced a person to the floor and gained access to a cash register, police said.
After about $500 was taken, the two suspects ran out of the back of the liquor store, police said.

It is believed the suspects ran toward North Hawbaker Circle and climbed into a white sport utility vehicle, police said.
