Mrs. Gertrude (Korpusik) Pugh, 69, loving mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, died peacefully in her home at 781 Reid Road, State Line, Pa., with her children and husband by her side on Thursday afternoon, March 31, 2011.  

Born June 18, 1941, in Pittston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Josephine (Szarkoski). She lived her early life in the Pittston area.  

Mrs. Pugh graduated from Duryea High School with the Class of 1959.  

She and her husband of over 51 years, Donald Pugh, were married on Nov. 26, 1959, in Duryea.

Mrs. Pugh worked at the Harnish House as a cook and later Burger King as a cook, both in Maugansville, Md.   

She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Greencastle, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, feeding and watching the birds on her porch with her husband.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Donna Grudzinski of Pittston, Donald Pugh Jr. of Greencastle, and Jessica Harne of State Line; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Balchune of Duryea and Eileen Balchune of Coxton, Pa.; one brother, Henry Korpusik of Mansfield, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.  

She will be greatly missed by everyone’s life she has touched.  

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA, 17268.
