April 01, 2011

WILLIAMSPORT — Part of the Washington County Water Quality Facility Complex caught on fire Thursday night in Williamsport.

The building is at 16232 Elliott Parkway.

Williamsport Volunteer Fire Co. Chief William Ball said that the fire department was called to the scene at 10:25 p.m.

“We arrived on the scene and I saw smoke coming from the building,” he said.

Only one employee was inside the building when the fire occurred. Nobody was injured, according to Ball.

Ball said that the fire likely was caused by a compressor motor.

The fire was put out by 11:51, he said.
