WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Cole Warrenfeltz and Jesse Francis had two hits apiece and Cody Bumbaugh had an RBI single in the first inning for Waynesboro (0-2) in its loss to Spring Grove.
Spring Grove pitcher Alan Rohrbaugh threw a complete game, striking out 13.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Marshall Witmer struck out 11 Blue Devils to lift Shippensburg (1-1) to a Mid-Penn Colonial victory on Wednesday.
Denton Ensminger had three hits and drove in all three runs for Greencastle (0-1). Drew DeShong had a hit and three walks and scored twice.

Saint James 17, Maret 6
WASHINGTON — Leah Peterson led Saint James with five goals and three assists and Madison Fahey added four goals in the Saints’ win over Maret.
Kayla Peterson had three goals and an assist, Morgan Stephens had two goals, Margaret Bacon had a goal and two assists and Lena Tilsworth and Ashley Fiebeneichen each had a goal for the Saints (2-0).
Goretti 15, Mercersburg JV 3
Jessica Swarner had five goals and Lauren Clopper added three for St. Maria Goretti in a win over the Mercersburg Academy JV squad.
Sydney Quantock and Nicole Brennan each had two goals, while Caitlyn Barnhart, Casey Caruso, and Alexa Radley had one each for the Gaels. Denise Wells had nine saves.
Zoe Alpert, Kaitlyn Creums and Woodi Krutek scored for the Blue Storm.
BOYS LACROSSE
Goretti 9, Mercersburg JV 5
Shane Sexton had five goals and Mike Fairley made seven saves as St. Maria Goretti (2-2) beat Mercersburg Academy’s JV team.
GIRLS SOCCER
Heritage 6, Broadfording 1
Rachel Clarke had two goals and two assists and Callie Butts had two goals and an assist as Heritage Academy beat Broadfording Christian.
Stephanie O’Brien and Isabel Forsman each scored a goal and Nicole Gaylor had two assists for the Eagles (3-1).
Aspen Flook notched the only goal for Broadfording (0-2).
