HAGERSTOWN — An individual walked into the lobby of the Hagerstown Police Department Thursday afternoon with a deep laceration to the chin, city police said.
An altercation apparently occurred in a residence in the 400 block of West Washington Street, and the victim said he was slashed by a knife, the Hagerstown police said in a news release.
The victim walked into the city police lobby, bleeding from the attack, about 4:43 p.m., the release said.
The suspect, who was last seen leaving the West Washington Street residence on a bicycle, was found near Burhans Boulevard and Ridge Avenue by a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy, police said.
The suspect, identified as Edward Leon Wilson, 62, of Hagerstown, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a weapon with intent to injure, police said.
The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of a non life-threatening injury.
