Mrs. Judy Ann (Gaver) Flook, 69, of 14521 Water Company Road, Cascade, Md., passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at her home.

Born Nov. 21, 1941, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Glenn E. and Marie Anna (Smith) Gaver. She lived most of her life in the Cascade area.

Mrs. Flook was a graduate of Smithsburg High School with the class of 1959. She later received an associate degree in business and accounting from Hagerstown Junior College, Hagerstown, Md.

She and her husband of more than 48 years, Mr. Gene Richard Flook, were married Nov. 17, 1962, in Sabillasville, Md. They had lived at their present residence since 1968.

Mrs. Flook was first self-employed in her home as a bookkeeper and accountant. She later worked in accounting, bookkeeping and various other positions for D.L. George & Sons, Waynesboro, for 24 years.

She was a member of Germantown Bethel Church of God, Cascade, and attended Sabillasville United Church of Christ. She also was a member of National AARP.

In her early life, Mrs. Flook served as a volunteer for Girl Scouts, worked with Job’s Daughters in Thurmont, Md., and was active with Universal Support Association at Hagerstown Junior College.

She enjoyed computers, watching TV and working on puzzles.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Flook is survived by one sister, Bonnie M. McGlaughlin of Fairfield, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Flook, who passed away in 1984; and her sister, Linda L. Manahan.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Mark Hosler officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
