Annie Venola Youngblood Hawbaker, 86, of Clear Spring, Md., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2011, from Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born Nov. 29, 1924, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late John E. Youngblood and Susan "Spicker" Youngblood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rush Hawbaker Sr., June 6, 1986.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring and the Clear Spring District Historical Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Stella L. "Penny" Carbaugh and husband, Ronald, of Hagerstown, and Nancy Hawbaker of Williamsport; one son, Richard "Dick" Hawbaker and wife, Grace, of Big Pool; one brother, John Robert Youngblood of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, John Richard Carbaugh, Calvin Michael Carbaugh, Jodie Marie Hawbaker, Brian Richard Hawbaker, Tammy Henson, Wesley Spoonire, and Pamela Shirley and husband, Bobby; and stepchildren, Barbara Ramsey and Charles E. Hawbaker, both of Hagerstown, and Martha Jane Hundly of Tennessee.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Sprinkle and Martha Bachtell; three brothers, Charles Youngblood, Floyd Youngblood and Wilson Youngblood; and five stepchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Charles Mackley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
