Joy Alma Heil, 92, of Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, east of Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 3, 1918, in Sharpsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Anna Elizabeth Bowers Drenner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Heil, on  Feb. 20, 2006.

She was previously employed by Dorbee Manufacturing Co., and Evonne Kay, retiring in 1972.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Turner and husband, Bill, and Judy Hebb and husband, Phil, all of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Robin Sutton of Hagerstown, and Ronda Rieker and husband, Terry, of Greencastle, Pa.; one grandson, Jamie Turner and wife, Renee, of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two great-granddaughters, Tiffany Sutton of Hagerstown and Kayla Demosky of Greencastle; one great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Jackson of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Dorothy Darr, Thelma Snyder, Hilda South, Edna Jennings, Pauline Drenner and Mabel Drenner; and two brothers, Calvin Drenner and Kenneth Drenner.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
