Western Heights Middle School holds flag fundraiser

Western Heights Middle School PTSA is holding a garden flag fundraiser. Flag poles are $6 each. Flags are $6 or four for $20.

Types of flags being sold are holiday/seasonal, dog breed and initial flags. Flags will be delivered in time for Easter. For more information about the fundraiser or to obtain a brochure, please call 301-739-6681.

Comedy tour is coming

The Make Me Laugh Comedy Tour will be at Next Dimensions in Hagerstown on Friday. Comics from BET, Comedy Central, Martin Lawrence’s 1st Amendment, Def Jam and Last Comic Standing will be in the house, along with one surprise special guest.

The show, featuring Nick Bean, C.J. Stottuth, Hurricane and Rob Maher, will be hosted by Chad Beadle.

LuHowl time approaches

The Humane Society of Washington County is celebrating its 90th anniversary, and it’s LuHowl time again. The annual Hawaiian-themed fundraiser will be held at the home of Don and Jone Bowman in Williamsport.

This year’s event is scheduled for June 11, 2011, from 6 to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the spay and neuter programs for dogs at the Humane Society of Washington County.

Please note that the Senior Center follows the Washington County Public Schools schedule for delayed openings and closures due to inclement weather.

The Senior Center is now opening the gym every day from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for walking.
