Commissioners hold 'meet and greet'

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners will hold an informal "meet and greet" event at Valley Mall in Hagerstown on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., County Administrator Gregory B. Murray said.

The event will be in the mall food court, where a display featuring county information will be set up.

"The public is welcome to meet the commissioners and ask questions about county government on Saturday," a news release said.

Robinwood Drive property acquired

The Washington County Commissioners Tuesday approved three property acquisitions along Robinwood Drive for a total cost of $90,958.

Real Property Administrator Joie Kuhna told the commissioners that small parcels of property at 11310, 11314 and 11106 Robinwood Drive are needed for widening of that road.

"We have the one whole side of the street now under option, so we're going to start on the next side now," Kuhna said.

The project is about a year away from being ready for construction, he said.

Five board appointments approved

The Washington County Commissioners Tuesday approved five appointments to boards and commissions, including:

  • Clint Wiley was reappointed to a second, five-year term on the Washington County Planning Commission.
  • Christopher Horst was reappointed to a second, three-year term on the Historic District Commission.
  • Robert Bowman, Kurt Cushwa and Christine Toms were appointed to three-year terms on the Historic District Commission.
