Travel group plans trip to Branson

The St. Andrew Presbyterian Church Travel Group is hosting a trip to Branson, Mo., from Sept. 19 to 27. Trip includes St. Louis Arch, Graceland, lunch at Opryland Hotel and  Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Scouts to collect food for the food bank

Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troop 17 recently delivered door hangers about collecting food for the Williamsport Food Bank. The Scouts will be picking up the food on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Place your donated food in bags or boxes and leave outside your door — nothing perishable, frozen or in glass, please.

Anyone may also donate food on Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon, and Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Williamsport Food Bank, Zion Lutheran Church basement, 35 W. Potomac St.

Basket bingo fundraiser planned

The Annual Shirley B. Robison Basket Bingo Fundraiser will be Sunday, April 3, at the Williamsport Fire Hall. Proceeds will be used to help improve quality of life for local cancer patients.

Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch, catered by Leiters’ Fine Catering, is at noon and bingo begins at 1 p.m.
Tickets cost $25 each or 2 for $40.

Earth Hour is Saturday

W.C. Senior Softball League set to begin

The Washington County Senior Softball League for those 50 and older is making plans for the upcoming season.

Registration and practice are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, starting April 4 at the City Park ball fields, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration fee is $30.

WHS Class of 2001 plans reunion

The Williamsport High School Class of 2001 will hold its 10-year reunion on Saturday, July 16, at the Potomac Fish & Game Club.

The reunion committee is looking for addresses (physical or email) of all classmates.

Clothes of Hope schedule for April

Clothes of Hope Ministries at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., provides gently used and some new clothing. They will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2; Mondays, April 4 and 18; and Thursday, April 14. They will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursdays, April 7 and 21, and Monday, April 11.

Clothes of Hope will start accepting spring and summer gently used, clean clothing donations on April 25, 26 and all other days after that when the Clothes of Hope is open.
