Money bonanza

A money bonanza will be held Saturday March 26, 2011, at Smithsburg Vol. Fire Co., 22 N. Main St. Doors open at 5 p.m.,  meal served at 6. 

Tickets cost $30 per couple.  The meal includes pit beef, baked beans, macaroni salad, macaroni  and cheese, dessert and drinks. No one younger than 18 will be admitted. Attendees must be 21 years or older to drink.

Vera Bradley benefit bingo

A Vera Bradley bingo to benefit The Hagerstown Kiwanis Club, will be Sunday, March 27, at the Hagerstown Elks Lodge, 11063 Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown.


Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch is served at noon. Bingo starts at 1  p.m. Tickets in advance cost $25 for 25 games of bingo; $30 at the door. There will be Cash King Tuts, tip jars, raffles, door prizes, loser prizes, and a 50-50 drawing.

Homemakers’ club anniversary

The Brightwood Homemakers’ Club will celebrate its 35th anniversary at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Nick’s Airport Inn.

Members of the club, members of the Washington County Homemakers’ Clubs, and their guests are invited to attend. For luncheon reservations, contact Diane, club secretary, at 301-797-0034, by Friday, April 1.

Guest speaker Mary King will present the program, “Women: Connecting the Generations.”
