TOPS Md. 0077

March 21, 2011|Ellen Rowland | Around North Hagerstown

A total of 81 chapter members weighed in and netted a loss for the meeting of 44 1/4 pounds. The best TOPS “losers” were Kathy Freese with 4 1/2 pounds and Bea Myers with 4 1/4 pounds. The best KOPS losers were Linda Siebert with 2 1/2  pounds and Cindy Ryder with 2 1/4 pounds. Linda also “arrived” at her goal weight and thus attained KOPS status.

The Get-R-Done kitty for $9.70 was won by best meeting loser Freese. There was no winner this week for the ha-ha kitty, and thus it has increased to $5.

The no-no snack for the coming week is pie. A small “fine” per serving is paid into the monthly kitty by participants who indulge.

The activity for the meeting was a chapter fundraiser called “Chinese raffle” and more than $200 in ticket sales was received for the chapter treasury. A big thank you to all participating members and to event facilitator Peggy Robinson.

From March 24 to 26, registered chapter members will be attending the annual State Recognition Days gathering, in Annapolis for all chapters in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.  There will be recognition and award ceremonies for top achievers, along with speakers.

The theme of the gathering this year is casino-related and called, “TOPS Is a Sure Bet!” TOPS Chapter Md. 0077 meets on Monday mornings at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown. For more information, call Donna at 240-239-0486 or Patsy at 301-582-2292. The public is welcome.
