June Marlene Shank, 75, of 15562 Wishard Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1935, in Bridgeport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lester Clopper and the late Cora Rudisill Clopper.
She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1953.
June was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she taught in the nursery department for 40 years. She was also a member of the Golden Rule Sunday school class and a former member of the board of trustees.
June will especially be remembered as a great cook and gracious hostess.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Edward Shank; one daughter, Melody A. (Shank) Lesane, and husband, Thurman, of Sterling, Va.; two grandchildren, Latoya R. Lesane and Ryan T. Lesane, both of Sterling; a niece, Dawn L. Lowenhaupt of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
