Trooper 1st Class Dave Matthews said Jackie Roberts Holman, 53, of Hagerstown, was taken to the hospital to be treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.

Holman, who was riding a Kawasaki Vulcan, was charged for making an unsafe lane change, Matthews said.

In a separate motorcycle accident at about the same time Friday, a Halfway woman was also taken to Meritus Medical Center when her motorcycle rear-ended another motorcycle on Wright Road north of Williamsport, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

Tonya Morris was taken to the hospital to be treated for what also appeared to be minor injuries, Deputy Carl Witmer said.

Morris was riding in the middle of two other riders when she struck the motorcycle in front of her, Witmer said.

The motorcycle behind Morris swerved to avoid the accident and ended up in a stream.

Witmer said the other two riders did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Morris was cited for failure to control speed and avoid a collision, Witmer said.

Morris and Holman were listed as patients in the emergency room Friday night, a hospital official said.
