Maugansville Ruritan will hold its community auction Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m.  
The Ruritan will donate 75 of the proceeds to Tracy McKinsey, a Maugansville resident and physical education teacher at Maugansville Elementary School. Tracy was diagnosed with leukemia in August 2010 and has been undergoing chemotherapy.

Friendship Club
The Maugansville Friendship Club will meet Tuesday, April 5, at noon at the Tops Chinese Restaurant.  
All are welcome to attend.
Sandy Scott, a retired Extension agent, will talk about house plants. She will be bring many plants, which will be auctioned after the meeting.  
Members are asked to bring Easter-theme decorations for the tables.

Hunt drawing set
Tickets are being sold, and a drawing will be held May 12 for an Illinois whitetail hunt for two. The hunt includes the license and lodging for two hunters.
First-place winner chooses from a  six-day bow hunt, four-day muzzleloader hunt or $2,000 in cash. Second place chooses from a crossbow or $300, and third place chooses from a muzzleloader or $150. Tickets cost one for $5 or five for $20. Proceeds will benefit the Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Co.

School talent show
Maugansville Elementary School students will show off their talents today at a variety show, starting at 6:30 p.m. The show will consist of students from kindergarten to fifth grade. The community is invited.


Happy birthday
Happy birthday today to Melissa Carpenter on her 14th birthday. She is a distinguished honor roll student at Western Heights Middle School.  Her passion is gymnastics. Someday she hopes to compete in the Olympics. Follow your dreams. Love, from Grandma and Grandpa.

Pancake breakfast
Maugansville Ruritan Club will host a pancake breakfast Saturday, March 26, from 6:30  to 11 a.m. at their building on Maugans Avenue.  
The all-you-can-eat breakfast features pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and sausage gravy with juice, coffee and tea.  Breakfast costs $5.50 for adults, $3 for those ages 6 to 12, and is free to those 5 and younger.  
This will be the final breakfast of the fall/winter season.  The next one will be held in September.  All proceeds help support the many programs the Ruritan Club sponsors.
