West Hagerstown Lions Club news

The West Hagerstown Lions Club will hold an all-you-can-eat spagetti dinner Saturday, April 16, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Girls Inc. on Washington Avenue.

The dinner includes one serving of apple sauce or tossed salad, bread and beverage. Desserts will be available for $1 each. Tickets cost $6, or two for $10, three for $15 or four for $20. Tickets cost $4 for those ages 6 to 12 and are free for those 5 and younger.

The club will host its Leader Dog Banquet Tuesday, April 19. The speaker will be Len Quinn who is an auctioneer. The club asks that each club or individual donate an item to be auctioned the night of the banquet. Proceeds go to Leader Dog. Cost of the meal of roast turkey, potatoes, gravy, etc. is $10. Call reservations into Donna Jackman at 301-790-2036 by April 9.

Scholarship applications for seniors at North, South and Technical High schools are due by April 15. Applications are available in the guidance offices at the schools.

Women's Club news

The Women's Club will host a spring fashion show fundraising event at Fountain Head Country Club Saturday, April 9, starting at noon.

Lunch will be served at noon with Fashions from Lena's, The Boutique and L & L Classic Clothing. Tickets cost $30.

There will be vendors and door prizes.

Diabetes Support Group at Potomac Towers

The diabetes support group at Potomac Towers will meet Wednesday, April 13, at 1:30 p.m. in the first-floor community room.

The program will be on proper foot care for diabetics, presented by Dr. Greg Smith of Podiatry Associates John Lipscomb from Advanced Diabetic Solutions will be available to order diabetic shoes with custom- shoe fitting.

The support group is open to individuals who live at Potomac Towers and anyone in the community.

The group provides a forum for educating individuals with diabetes to help manage their disease and to gain support from others.
