Ilene Jane (Edsall) Klomp, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 29, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Theresa V. (Wyszynski) Edsall.

She was the wife of the late James Everett Klomp Jr., who died in May 1980.

Ilene graduated from Jamestown High School, Jamestown, in the class of 1947.

She was a homemaker, and later waitressed at the American Legion Post in Greencastle, Pa.

She was a past member of Moose Lodge 212 of Hagerstown and the Eagles Club of Hagerstown. She was a current member of American Legion of Greencastle, Pa., and Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.

Ilene is survived by two daughters, Colleen J. Dealey of Staunton, Ill., and LuAnn J. Sprankle-Mitchell of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Heather L. Sprankle, Bryan J. Sprankle Sr., Tiffany L. Sprankle, Rachael M. Dealey and Evan J. Dealey; and eight great-grandchildren, Kiera N. Sprankle, Devonte M. Smith, Darnell M. Smith, Jermaine A. Ford, Candace M. Davis, Bryan J. Sprankle Jr., Jayson D. Sprankle and Kaylah N. Sprankle.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ilene was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery J. Klomp; and a daughter, Shelly L. Klomp.

The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Linda M. Alessandri will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Ilene was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
