Spring is around the corner

I think we’ve finally turned the corner to spring. Thank goodness.

Smothers to participate in Roundball Classic

Ashley Smothers, a senior at Boonsboro High School, has been selected to participate in the Buffalo Wild Wings Roundball Classic Saturday at Hagerstown Community College.

The Roundball Classic is a regional high school all-star event showcasing some of the best basketball talent in the Mid-Atlantic region. Ashley will compete for the National All-Stars in the Girls Elite Game at 12:30 p.m. Admission costs $8 for all day.

Boonsboro Library news

This week at the library:

Tuesday at 6 p.m., Dr. William Bodenheimer will discuss depression and anxiety. He will outline what is normal to experience, and also the warning signs that might alert us to seek professional advice and treatment.

On St. Patrick’s Day, the monthly Book Share Program will take place at 6 p.m. in the Community Room. Bring a favorite book to share.

On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., the library will show the movie “Megamind.”

Spaghetti dinner planned March 26

First Hose Co. of Boonsboro invites the community to an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday, March 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire hall, 5 St. Paul St.

Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for those ages 6 to 13.  

The menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, bread, applesauce, soda and dessert.
