PEO is a Philanthropic Educational Organization supporting educational opportunities for women through grants, scholarships, loans and the ownership of Cottey College in Nevada, Mo.

The 142 year-old organization has given more than $180,000,000 in financial assistance to recipients of the Educational Loan Fund, the International Peace Scholarship, the Program for Continuing Education and the PEO Scholar Awards. The newly-designated STAR scholarship for high school seniors headed to college awarded more than $370,000 last year.

The organization looks to talk with interested and qualified candidates for its awards.  Interested women can contact the local chapter at jlwh@rocketmail.com, or to be put in touch with the appropriate chairperson.
