INDIANAPOLIS — John Timothy Martin received the American FFA degree at the 83rd annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Oct. 23. It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization, and recognizes Martin for demonstrating leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing and service programs.
Martin, the son of John Steven and Karen Martin, is attending West Virginia University, where he is majoring in mechanical engineering.
He is a member of the Smithsburg FFA chapter, where his agricultural education instructor and FFA adviser is Cody Pine.
Martin received a gold American FFA degree key and a certificate in a blue leatherette frame to commemorate the achievement.
