Sherman Franklin Kendall Jr., 84, of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born June 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Sherman F. Kendall Sr. and Ruth Naomi Bowers Kendall.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Mae Grams Kendall, whom he married Sept. 22, 1946. He was employed at Hagerstown Leather Goods for 34 years as sales manager, and retired as vice president of sales from the Hagerstown Block Co. after 15 years of service.

He was a member of the Hagerstown Bible Church, where he served faithfully as Sunday school superintendent, elder, class president, church board member and treasurer for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Cindy Myers and husband, John, of Williamsport, Chris Sweeney and husband, Ed, of Hagerstown, Greg Kendall and wife, Theresa, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Jeff Kendall and wife, Debi, of Hagerstown; one niece; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Kendall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagerstown Bible Church. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hagerstown Bible Church, 203 Summit Ave., Hagerstown MD 21740.
