Ruritan to hold dinner

District 12 Ruritan, on the corner of Breathedsville and Manor Church roads in Fairplay, will hold an all-you-can-eat slippery beef and chicken potpie dinner Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out.  

The meal includes your choice of cole slaw or applesauce, roll, tea, coffee or water. Carryout will be available. Desserts will also be sold. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $3.50 for those ages 12 and younger.

Miller to speak at Historical Society meeting  

South Mountain State Battlefield historian John A. Miller will give a slide presentation to the Keedysville Historical Society meeting Monday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 53 N. Main St., Keedysville. Miller's presentation will explore the local Civil War history and points of interest within the South Mountain Recreational Area. Enter the Social Hall at the left rear door from the parking lot.

Eichelberger wins raffle

Darlene Eichelberger won the latest 50/50 raffle at American Legion Post 236 in Sharpsburg.  

The post thanks everyone for their support. Proceeds raised will be used to help the troops, veterans and children in the area.

Mount Briar to hold revival  

Mount Briar First Church of God, 4705 Mt. Briar Road in Keedysville, will hold a revival from March 13 to 16 at 7 each night.  Eric Cooper and Journey of Grace will lead the Sunday services, March 21.  The Rev. Richard Frederick will preach Monday.  The Rev. Arthur Baugher will preach Tuesday and The Rev. Joseph Burdette will preach Wednesday. Special music will be presented nightly.

Samples Manor to start spring cleaning

The Samples Manor Cemetery Committee asks all persons who have placed memorial items such as flowers and statues on the graves of loved ones to remove and collect these items by March 15, or the Cemetery Committee will be obligated to dispose of them.
