Mail Call - March 10

March 09, 2011

"This is about the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas. Fight fire with fire. There will be death and funerals for their members and their families. Go protest them if you can."

— Hagerstown

"This is in reference to the Buckles burial. I'm so glad somebody finally realized that being in the military ... should not let you lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda. There are people way more important, and I realize he's a veteran, but the fact that he lived to be 110 should not give him the right to that. I don't even think he should be allowed to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. He never saw combat ... But the Capitol Rotunda should be out of the question."

— Hagerstown

"The Washington County Commissioners have wisely shown compassion for the hundreds, perhaps thousands of construction workers out of a job, and consideration for those who are unable to afford a new home, by their decision to mitigate already exorbitant taxes on new residences. The same cannot be said for the individuals who already have their homes on which they paid no such taxes, and who apparently have no friends or relatives out of a job."

— Washington County

"For people who are against the unions, food for thought. No minimum wage, no benefits, no unemployment, no holidays or vacation, no more workers' rights — seven days a week just to live."

— Hagerstown
