Don't forget the indoor Soap Box Derby competition is Saturday and Sunday at the Stanley B. Fulton Complex, off West Main Street. Races begin at 9 a.m. each day. Competitors from surrounding states will join local youths in racing.

Youth dance
Hancock in Motion will sponsor a St. Patrick's dance for youth in grades six to 10 at the Hancock Community Center Saturday, March 19, from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and free soft drinks, and snacks will be provided. There will be adult supervision and music.
Help for homeowners
Camp Joy is accepting applications from local homeowners in the area who need basic home repairs. Homeowners must be low income, elderly or disabled to apply, and the scope of work includes scraping, painting, caulking, yard cleanup, deck repair, wheelchair ramps, etc.
The work will be done by volunteers from Methodist and other churches during the weeks of July 11 to 22. Applications are available at Town Hall, Hancock United Methodist Church and the ISC's Loaves and Fishes Thrift Store. For more information, call Hancock United Methodist at 301-678-6440.
