Sexton to speak at Hagerstown Lions meeting

Tuesday — Laurie Sexton, from Antietam Health Care Foundation, will give an update on the new Meritus Medical Center.

Locust Point

Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at  Congregation B’Nai Abraham, 53 E. Baltimore St. in Hagerstown.

The group is planning a craft fundraiser and is seeking ideas.

It is also planning a Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) class for the month of May.

The free program will involve two nights of class and a Saturday for hands-on activities that support the classroom instruction.

Basket bingo

The South High Band Boosters will hold a Vera Bradley basket bingo Sunday, April 3, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive.

Tickets, which include the meal and 24 games of bingo, cost $25 per person.  

In addition, there will be three raffles and numerous door prices.  

Tip jars, including King Tuts, will be available. All baskets and bags will be filled.  

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m.

SHHS Alumni to meet Thursday

South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association will meet Thursday in the school’s media center at 7 p.m.

Items to be discussed include the Rebel Reunion Weekend in June and the 2011 scholarships for seniors.
