Theodore John "Ted" Siecker Sr. 85, of Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, March 5, 2011, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 15, 1925, in McGrann, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna Marie Koch Siecker.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He served on the USS Langley and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He retired in 1985 from Mack Trucks Inc.
Ted was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for more than 49 years.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and VFW Post 6319.
His hobbies were playing in a country-western band, karaoke, oil painting and NASCAR. He enjoyed time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gezella Siecker; one daughter, Debra Bache and husband, James, of Pelzer, South Carolina; two sons, Teddy Siecker Jr. and wife, Chris, of Beachwood, N.J., and David Siecker and wife, Kathy, of Hagerstown; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Siecker of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Siecker; six sisters; and seven brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
