Twenty participating in Teen Idol finals on March 26

HAGERSTOWN — Twenty performers will participate in a final competition for Teen Idol 2011 on March 26 at The Maryland Theatre.

The 20 finalists were selected from two nights of performances, one at Valley Mall on Feb. 15 and the second at Port City Java in the Long Meadow Shopping Center on Feb. 16. One of the finalists also was selected based on performances posted on Facebook.

During the final competition at The Maryland Theatre, the performers, ages 15 to 19, will vie for a grand prize of $1,000 and a second prize of $500.

The event is being presented by Washington County Free Library, The Maryland Theatre and After Five Productions.

The finalists are:

  • Kelsie Smith, Boonsboro High School

  • Jack Nehemias, Smithsburg High School

  • Raven Jackson, North Hagerstown High School

  • Megan Siebeneichen, Barbara Ingram School for the Arts

  • Lorna Mullins, Clear Spring High School

  • Travis Silver, Barbara Ingram School for the Arts

  • Rachel Birkey, Boonsboro High School

  • Tessa Wiles, Clear Spring High School

  • Ryan Baker, Washington County Technical High School
