Home-based business open house

A home-based business open house is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hager's Crossing Community Center, behind the Hagerstown Walmart.

There will be more than a dozen home-based businesses represented, including home-party businesses such as Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Celebrating Home, Arbonne, Mary Kay, Avon, Thirty One, Creative Memories, Amway and Touchstone Crystal, as well as those in the floral design, and home remodeling and repair business sectors. Each vendor has agreed to donate a table charge or a minimum of 15 percent of every sale made the day of the event to the community to use for future community events.

Refreshments will be available and door prizes will be awarded. The public is invited to attend.

GREENSBORO, N.C.  Construction Machinery Industrial LLC (CMI),
the leading construction equipment dealer in Alaska, has expanded its business by becoming a Mack Trucks Inc. full-service dealer. CMI now offers Mack sales, parts and service in its Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan locations.

The complete Mack product line offered to customers in the state is well-suited for the mining operations, civil contractors and other construction industries that CMI has historically served. The Mack Granite and Titan by Mack models in particular are expected to strongly appeal to CMI's customer base.

CMI was founded in 1985, with current sales and service business of $88 million. With a 43 percent market share in its segment as a Volvo Construction Equipment dealer, the company plans to leverage its reputation for exceptional service into the Mack side of the business as well.

CMI has expanded its service facilities in Fairbanks and Juneau to accommodate the demands of the new Mack product lines.

Brechbill & Helman Construction Co.

Brechbill & Helman Construction Co. was recently awarded a contract by Riyan Hospitality LLC for the construction of the new 42,965-square-foot Candlewood Suites in Chambersburg, Pa. Located in the Gateway Center off Interstate 81, the three-story hotel features 70 suites, along with an indoor pool and exercise room.

The project began in February and is scheduled for completion in the fall.
