Tractor Club plans display at Valley Mall

Washington County Antique Tractor Club will hold its spring show at Valley Mall from March 21 to 27. The club will have a large display of antique tractors and also a display from the Washington County Tractor Pullers Association.

On Friday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m., an old-time rope-making demonstration will be held. On Saturday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m., a kids' pedal event for those ages 5 to 10 will be featured. Prizes will be awarded.

The club awards a $1,000 scholarship annually to a student who is pursuing a degree in agriculture.

Race cars at mall today through Saturday

The 25th annual Hagerstown Speedway Race-A-Rama Car Show will be at Valley Mall today through Saturday. Race car fans will get a chance to view the cars on display. The cars will be set up throughout the mall.

Reminder to parents

Parents of Washington County Public Schools students, please be sure to note the following: Washington County schools will close 2 1/2 half hours early Friday. This will end the fourth marking period for students in secondary schools. There will be no prekindergarten classes.

SHHS alumni to meet

South Hagerstown High School's Alumni Association will meet Thursday, March 10, at 7 p.m. in the school's media center.

Items to be discussed include the Rebel Reunion Weekend in June and the 2011 scholarships for seniors.

All graduating classes are encouraged to send a representative.

Any graduate of South High is welcome to attend.

Irish slide show and lecture planned

The Jonathan Hager House and Museum will present a special St. Patrick's Day slide show and lecture Thursday, March 17, beginning at 7 p.m.
