Keedysville senior site offers lunch

If you are a senior looking for a healthy lunch and some companionship, the Keedysville senior site invites you to lunch. Meals are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a suggested price of $5.25.  Financial assistance is available. A two-day notice is required.

Music students

Several gifted musicians from Boonsboro Middle School participated in the All County Band event Feb. 5 under the direction of Jeff Brodie.

Oyster dinner

An oyster dinner will be Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Benevola United Methodist Church, 19925 Benevola Church Road.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for those ages 10 and younger.

The menu includes fried oysters, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, sauerkraut, corn, green beans, applesauce, assorted desserts, iced tea, lemonade and coffee.

Pancake breakfast

Boonsboro Lions Club will hold a pancake, sausage and sausage gravy breakfast Saturday, March 12, from 7 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro.

Breakfast will be held in the church’s social room.

Donations will be accepted for the all-you-can-eat meal. Eggs will be available and cookie, cake and dessert table items will be sold. The community is invited. Used eyeglasses will be collected, as well.

Basket bingo

A basket bingo to benefit the Franklin E. “Wimp” Hamburg Scholarship is scheduled for Sunday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m.

Games will begin at 1 p.m. and include regular bingo, specials and raffles.  

Food will also be available for purchase.


Tickets cost $25 per person, and all attendees must be 18 or older.

Scholarship fundraiser

Washington County Homemakers will hold a scholarship fundraiser Thursday, March 10, at the North American Rod & Gun Club. The admission price of $10 will cover bingo, and lunch will be available for purchase.  Members and guests are welcome. Ticket information is available by calling 301-432-8039.

Friday Night Date Night

One more reminder that Greenbrier Baptist Church on the corner of U.S. 40 and Md. 66 sponsors Friday Night Date Night for parents of those ages 2 to 14. The church offers free childcare from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. each Friday evening for parents with dinner plans or errands to run. Games, movies and crafts are on the agenda.
