Mary Louise Wolford, 94, of 122 Stouffer Ave., Funkstown, Md., died on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, where she was a resident.

Born Oct. 29, 1916, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Georgie Putman Brennan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Wolford.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.

She retired after 22 years with the Washington County Board of Education.  

She was a charter member of American Legion Funkstown 211 Auxiliary, North American Rod & Gun Club and R.S.V.P.

She was a senior volunteer at the hospital snack bar. She loved traveling to her cabin and vacationing in Ocean City, Md.

She is survived by one brother, Stewart Brennan of Clear Spring; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, John T.  Wolford Jr.; three sisters; and three brothers.

It was a request of Mary's that a special thank you be given to her friends and the staff at Broadmore Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Michael Louia will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited back to St. Paul's Lutheran Church for fellowship following the graveside service.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p. m.
