Edith Pauline Shank, 96, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport, Md.

Born Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1915, in Edgemont, Md., Shank was the daughter of the late Frank Deal and the late Etta Stoops Deal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. Shank, in 1974.

She was a hairdresser for over 35 years with Potomac Beauty Salon. Edith was a member of Calvary Grace Brethren Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Mongold of Hagerstown, and Linda Shank Beaumont of Westminster, Md.; two sons, Willis S. Martin Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., and Larry W. Martin of Fayetteville, Pa.; six grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Services will be held Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Douglas A. Courter officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 28.

Interment will be at the Broadfording Church Cemetery, Hagerstown.
