Lola Isabel Irvin, 79, of 14015 Village Mill Drive, Maugansville, a loving mother, passed away quietly at her home with her son, Clyde Jr., at her side on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.

Born Jan. 13, 1932, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Earl Jesse Miles Sr. and Lola Hawbaker Miles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lester Irvin Sr., in 2003.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren.

She was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as a cafeteria aide at Maugansville Elementary School.

She is survived by her three sons, Clyde L. Irvin Jr., of Maugansville, Samuel W. "Sam" Irvin and Joseph M. "Joe" Irvin, both of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Claudia Mills and husband, Bob, of Clear Spring; four sisters, Judy Burgan and Thelma Burke, both of Hagerstown, Ida Mason of Clear Spring and Alma Johnson of Waynesboro, Pa.; two brothers, Dave Miles and wife, Betty, of Martinsburg and Glen Miles and wife, Pat, of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, mother and father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hager; three brothers, Jesse Miles, Johnny Miles and Roger Miles; and a granddaughter.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home with The Rev. W. Allen Reed officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
