A 53-year-old Hagerstown man charged with showing pornography to and sexually abusing a minor remained in the Washington County Detention Center after a Tuesday bond review hearing in District Court.

Bail for Norman Lee Potter Jr. remained at $100,000 following the bond review by District Judge Dana Moylan Wright.

Potter, of 18602 Amanda Lane, was charged Monday with two counts each of admitting a minor to a sexual display, sexual solicitation of a minor, sex abuse of a minor and third-degree sex offense, according to the statement of charges filed by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday, Feb. 17, the 12-year-old boy was interviewed by a Child Protective Services worker, the application for statement of charges said. The boy told the interviewer that Potter showed him a pornographic video in June 2009 and performed a sexual act in front of him, charging documents said.

The boy alleged that Potter showed him a pornographic video on a computer at a later date and performed another sexual act, documents said.

The boy also alleged that Potter touched him and asked the boy to fondle him on both occasions,  the documents said.

Potter is scheduled for a District Court hearing on the charges on March 17, court records said.
