HANCOCK — A tractor-trailer that crashed on a sharp curve at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 68 Thursday afternoon was carrying about 43,000 pounds of what appeared to be dye, according to Maryland State Police.
Forklifts were used to remove containers of the material after the accident was reported about 4 p.m., said Sgt. Stacey Cain, a state police spokeswoman.
The tractor-trailer crashed as it was traveling from I-68 east to I-70 east, Cain said.
It was unclear if the driver was hurt, Cain said.
One lane of I-68 was closed at one point after the wreck.
