Harvey James ("H.J." or "Jim") Culler, 85, passed away on Feb. 20, 2011, at the Fulton County Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Plum Run, Pa., a son of the late John and Leila (Comerer) Culler. Jim was united in marriage to K. Aileen (Tritle) Culler on Aug. 3, 1946.

Jim was the founder and owner of H.J. Culler, Inc., a regional milk and dairy commodities carrier, based in McConnellsburg and Marion, Pa.

Jim was a charter member of Mount Zion Lodge 774, member of Consistory, Valley of Harrisburg, a past potentate of Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, and member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He served on the board of directors, Shriners Hospital for Children, Philadelphia. He served as chairman of the board, The First National Bank of McConnellsburg,   president of the Fulton Industrial Development Association and McConnellsburg Lions Club, and numerous additional civic and fraternal organizations. He was recognized by the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce as an outstanding citizen.

Jim Culler's first love was his family. In his eyes, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren could do no wrong. In their leisure time, Jim and his wife, Aileen, enjoyed traveling, both nationally and internationally. Their adventures also allotted him the opportunity to collect pedal tractors, milk bottles, horse-drawn plows, antique farm tools and any other goodies or trinkets Aileen would permit him to bring home.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Aileen; four children, Judy (wife of Tim) Williams of Harrisburg, Jo Waltman of Mechanicsburg, John James (husband of Deb) and Jeffrey W. (husband of Lisa) Culler, both of McConnellsburg; five grandchildren, Michelle Y. Frady, John Harvey Culler, Jeramy D. Culler, Erica D. Culler and Adam R. Culler; three great-grandchildren, Madisyn Culler, Isaac Culler and Adalynn Culler.

He is also survived by two brothers, Gerald "Joe" Culler and Donald "Pete" Culler, both of McConnellsburg, and five sisters, Jean Weller, Delores Souders, Martha Gordon and Patricia Horton, all of McConnellsburg, and Saundra Shaffer of Harrisburg.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leila Culler; one brother, Merrill, and three sisters, Alma Culler, Marjorie Glenn and Betty Davis.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 N. Third St., McConnellsburg.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving family and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A Masonic service is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the charity of one's choice, in memory of Mr. Culler. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Homes, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg, is handling arrangements for the family.
