Coroner: Two found dead in December succumbed to hypothermia

February 22, 2011

BURNT CABINS, Pa. — Two people found dead in late December in a Dublin Township, Pa., home succumbed to hypothermia, Fulton County (Pa.) Coroner Berley Souders said.

Pennsylvania State Police performing a welfare check on Grist Mill Road found the bodies of Gary A. Shore, 72, and Dorothy A. Rife, 84, on Dec. 27, 2010.

With Shore, diabetes added complications to the hypothermia, Souders said.

Rife suffered a heart attack 24 to 48 hours after the hypothermia began, he said.

Information about Shore's death was provided over the weekend, Souders said.
