Fire damages house in Pa.

February 22, 2011

ST. THOMAS, Pa. — A Tuesday evening fire damaged the attic and second floor of a home at 167 Coble Road in St. Thomas Township, fire officials said.

Firefighters used a pond on the farm lane to access water and extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes, St. Thomas Deputy Fire Chief Adam McNew said.

Fifty to 70 firefighters from seven or eight departments responded, McNew said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

The cause will be investigated by a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal.
