Winter Praise and Jam

Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St., will host Winter Praise and Jam Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. The evening of live praise and worship features two bands, Langley (formerly Sunday Obsession) and The Living Stones.

The public is welcome. Admission and refreshments are free.

Indoor yard sale planned

St. James Brethren Church, at 17718 Lappans Road, will hold its annual indoor yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Breakfast, including all-you-can-eat pancakes with sausage and country ham, scrambled eggs, coffee or orange juice, will be available from 8 to 11 a.m. The breakfast costs $6. Soup and sandwiches will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Support group to meet

The cancer support group will meet Wednesday, March 2, at 10 a.m. at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., in the library.

All are welcome.

Food bank adds evening hours

The Williamsport Food Bank is open on Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. Beginning this week, they will also be open on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Food Bank is at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St. in Williamsport.

Phone book recycling planned at WES

The Green School committee at Williamsport Elementary School is holding Earth Week from April 14 to 20.

The week will include a phone book recycling program. The committee is requesting the public to save their older phone books and bring them to the school during that week, when a large receptacle will be available on the school's back dock.

Their goal is to collect 500 phone books. Please do not bring phone books before Earth Week.

AP Information Night planned at WHS

Tonight is Advanced Placement Information Night at Williamsport High School. The session begins at 6:30 p.m. in the school's media center.

Students interested in AP courses can ask questions and teachers will be on hand to address the content of their courses. The AP exam process will also be discussed.
