BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Anna Suella “Sue” Grove, age 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born Feb. 28, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George Atlanta and Ida Pearl Breakall Caldwell.

She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs. She attended Hancock High School. She had been a cook for most of her working career. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Grove is survived by two daughters, Ronnie Lee Grove, Berkeley Springs, and the Rev. Jennifer Lynn Bryan, Lenexa, Kan.; one son, Charles G. Grove Jr., Terra Alta, W.Va.; three sisters, Edith Elizabeth Gloyd, Maricopa, Ariz., Ruth Pearl Brush, Eugene, Ore., and Frances Catherine Younker, Hancock, Md.; one brother, Gene Cavender, Buck Valley, Pa.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gilbert Grove, in 2006; a stepmother, Mildred Cavender Caldwell; two sisters, Edna Marian Hovermale and Mary Agnes Clem; and three brothers, Lee Edward Caldwell Jr., George A. “Mick” Caldwell and Newton Hamilton Caldwell.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Dirk Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
