Each year, several thousand high school musicians from across Maryland audition for the Maryland All State Bands, Orchestras and Choruses sponsored by the Maryland Music Educators Association.

Students audition and are judged by experts in their field. Those selected represent the best among Maryland's middle and high school student musicians.

For the 2010-11 school year, 14 Washington County Public School student musicians were selected as members of the Maryland All State Junior Chorus, All State Senior Chorus, All State Senior Mixed Chorus, All State Senior Women's Chorus and All State Senior Orchestra.

All State Senior Orchestra members will rehearse the weekend of Feb. 25 to 27 and present a concert on the last day at the Hunt Valley Marriott. All State Senior Chorus vocalists will rehearse March 4 to 6, with a concert on Sunday, also at the Hunt Valley Marriott.

The weekend for All State Junior Chorus is March 11 to 13, with a concert on Sunday at The Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown.
