Cycling class to raise money for United Way

February 18, 2011

The United Way is teaming up with area fitness trainers to host an all-day cycling class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Valley Mall, Halfway. The site will be near Old Navy.

With more than 60 bikes available and trainers working with volunteers in all fitness levels, the goal is to keep the pedals moving and raising funds for United Way. Each rider's goal is to raise and donate $125 for the hour he or she is on the bike.

Each team's challenge is to have a team member on the bike each hour of the event and to raise $1,000.

Individuals or teams may sign up to raise money. Teams with eight members will take turns riding one bike all day. Teams with fewer than eight members will share a bike to fill all time slots. There will be door prizes and team awards.

Several bikes will be reserved for single riders.
