J. Frank Fearnow Sr., 94, died Sunday morning, Feb. 13, 2011, quietly in his home.

Born Oct. 19, 1916, in Williamsport, Md., he was the son of the late William O. Fearnow and Nora B. Miller Fearnow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Terrace Susan Cronise Fearnow, to whom he was married for 59 years.

Frank owned and operated Ingram’s Men’s Shop from 1957 to 1987, where he made the Top List of Who’s Who in the Business World, State of Maryland, 1974.

Previously, he managed the American Store for Acme Market for 11 years.

He was a 25-year member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Choir. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and served on the finance committee.

Frank was a member of Pangborn Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 88. He was a longtime member of the Pioneer Bowling League and later the Senior Citizen Bowling League, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and a supporter of Christian Children’s Fund.

He is survived by three sons, C. Dennis Fearnow and J. Frank Fearnow Jr., both of this area, and Gary Vincent Fearnow of the Frederick area; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was the last remaining member of his family.

He was preceded in death by one sister and seven brothers.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Marty Nocchi will officiate and the Rev. David W. Shaum will concelebrate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
