Charles “Charlie” Martin Harne Sr., 80, of Indiana Avenue, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Sunday, Dec. 14, 1930, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Perry Forcino and the late Margaret C. Stevens Forcino.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving for 11 years.

He was employed with the Pangborn Corp. for 20 years, and later was employed part time at Lowe’s and at the Robinwood Medical Center.

He was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, Moose Lodge, VFW Post 1936, UAW Local 842 and Funkstown American Legion Dixon Troxell Post 211.

He is survived by his former wife, Wanda Harne; one daughter, Brenda Harne-Herbert of Hagerstown; five sons, Steven M. Harne, Charles M. Harne Jr., David P. Harne and Martin A. Harne, all of Hagerstown, and Tony L. Harne of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Elevia D. Householder of Downsville, Md., and Linda J. Carnes of Hagerstown; one brother, Michael S. Forcino of Downsville; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Chaplain Stephen J. Smith officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service Office, Room 1D-105, 510 Butler Ave., Martinsburg WV 25405.
