The South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association will host a Rebel Reunion Weekend in June to celebrate 55 years of education at South High.

On Thursday, June 23, the ninth annual SHHS Benefit Golf Tournament will be held at Beaver Creek Country Club. All proceeds from the golf tournament go to the scholarship fund, which is used each year to award scholarships to two graduating students.

On Saturday, June 25, there will be a Mega Reunion at Hager Hall, 901 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, from 6 to 11 p.m. The cost is $30 per person, which includes food and music. The event is open to all South High alumni, administrators, teachers, staff and their guests. Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Registration forms for the golf tournament and the reunion can be found on the association’s website at

CPR Made Simple

The American Red Cross on Conrad Court is offering a CPR Made Simple course on Saturday, March 5, beginning  at 10 a.m. and one at Valley Mall on Friday, March 11, at 2 p.m.

The course provides individuals with a one-hour overview of the skills needed to save a life. In this course, lecture is kept to a minimum so participants can focus on hands-on skills. The class is free.

March is Red Cross Month and the local chapter is asking people to join it in helping those in need by donating blood, time or money, or taking a class.
