February 14, 2011

HAGERSTOWN — A four-vehicle accident Monday in the first block of East Washington Street in Hagerstown snarled traffic and sent one person to Meritus Medical Center, Police Chief Arthur Smith said.

Smith said the chain-reaction accident happened at about 9:15 a.m. and closed the road to traffic for about 20 minutes.

“One person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries,“ Smith said. The person was treated and released, he said.

Smith said the names of the people who were involved in the accident were unavailable.
