MIDDLETOWN, Md. — Glenn Leroy Reimel, 83, of Middletown, Md., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 11, 2011.

He is the husband of Betty Reimel. They would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 27, 2011.

He was born Nov. 23 1927, to the late Stanley and Helen Wolfe Reimel, formerly of Sciota, Pa.

He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II, and he received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College, Easton, Pa. Prior to his retirement, he was plant manager of Coplay Cement Co., formerly Alpha Portland Cement Co.

Following retirement, he enjoyed attending public auctions and sales, going to steam engine shows, and had been a member of the Antique Car Club.

He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with all of his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Glenn is survived by three children, a son, Glenn B. Reimel and wife, Janie, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and two daughters, Connie L. Wolfe and husband, Jim, of Smithsburg, Md., and Tennie H. Hamilton and husband, David, of Frederick; six grandchildren, Susan Campbell, Shannon Oranczak, Michael Wolfe Sr., Jessica Ryan, Steven Wolfe and Aaron Wolfe; and four great-grandchildren, Michael Reimel, Madison Oranczak, Mykenzy Wolfe and Michael Wolfe, Jr. He is also survived by two sisters, Elva Thomas and Charlene Serfass; four brothers, Douglas Reimel, Stewart Reimel, Edward Reimel and Robert Reimel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard Reimel.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at The Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Steven McCullough will officiate.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Good Shepherd Ministries Building Fund, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
