Greencastle man charged with aggravated assault

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — A Greencastle man who is accused of pointing a pistol at a woman and choking her in an Antrim Township home on Wednesday has been charged with aggravated assault, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Dondi Lee Barhart, 53, also was charged with one count each of simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangering and harassment, according to a state police press release.

The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. in a home in the 1900 block of Shinham Road, where Barhart allegedly pointed a pistol at the woman and put her in a choke hold, troopers said.

Barhart was taken to Franklin County Prison, the release said.

A spokeswoman at the jail said Thursday morning that Barhart was being held, but further information, including the amount of his bond, was unavailable.
